BRAVING THE OUTDOORS!

Me, and the lovely effects of camping with 4 boys & 1 husband

Mason, Hayden and Adam

All of my men! I love this picture, I think I'll have it framed. Zac and Mason were convinced this is where they filmed "the sanctuary" from Tarabithia.

Zac playing in the creek

We had chipmunks living in our camp. The boys nicknamed them Alvin, Simon and Theodore. This one is Theo. He was the fattest chipmunk we had ever seen.

This weekend James and I decided to brave camping this year...alone. We've never gone with just our little family before. We only went for two nights, but that was enough. By the last morning, Adam was crying to go home because he missed Diesel (our dog). The older boys would've stayed if they could.

We had fun, a few mishaps. Adam had a cough for about a week before we left. The first night there, he coughed so hard he threw-up...on me. Yes is was nasty. We cleaned up the best we could with wipes (it was almost 10pm, too late to go home) We also froze the first night. Last year when we went camping the end of August it was very warm at night...not this year. So, the next morning, I took a trip down the mountain to shower and get more blankets. It actually worked out because I also forgot our camera. The second night we were all way more comfortable.

Hayden and Adam had fun. They each had their own flashlight and they would play in the trees having little adventures. That's also how we got Adam to use the bathroom. He's still trying to pottytrain, so we would tell him "let's go on an adventure" and he would grab his flashlight and head off to the bathrooms (even in the daytime). Zac and Mason had fun going on little hikes up the creek and trying to sneak back into camp without being seen. It never worked, they snicker too much:)

BREAKING DAWN...FINALLY

Beth and I at the Breaking Dawn Release party. We're wearing our "Edward is a polygamist, right?" shirts...he is isn't he?

AWWW! Edward's silver volvo. I know I'm pathetic. I admit I need help, but isn't that the first step towards recovery? Of course, I've never denied it and I haven't recovered yet.

OK, so I admit, when I first read Breaking Dawn, I didn't like it. I was extremely disappointed. But now that I've had a chance to think about it and look for all of the "clues" from the first three books, I have changed my mind. I'm also reading it to James, Zac and Mason and I'm catching things I missed the first time when I rushed through it. Now that I'm not so caught up on one certain fact (I won't mention it in case you haven't read it) I'm letting myself get more involved with the characters and the story. So now I'm back on the Twilight Saga band wagon. (as if I could ever truly leave)

HAYDEN'S FIRST LOST TOOTH!

He was so excited! He had to call daddy right away with the good news. Now he's convinced if you eat a starburst, you'll lose a tooth.

OUR 15TH ANNIVERSARY

On July 10th, James and I celebrated our 15th anniversary. We decided to go all out this year (since we didn't go to Hawaii...maybe someday). We stayed at the Grand America Hotel in downtown Salt Lake. This is the lobby.

We got the Bed of Roses package. This is what the turn down service looked like. Those are real rose petals (they were huge). They put slippers by the bed and folded up robes on the pillows. They also gave us little chocolates...yummy!

So after we got our in-room couples massages, the best I've ever had, we just relaxed in our room. We ordered room service and watched a movie. No kids, no dog, no noise...yes it was heaven.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZAC!

Our Zachary, turned 11 on July 9th. Happy birthday buddy.

BEAR WITH ME!

OK, so I think I may have figured out the whole transferring pictures thing. (I am so not electronically inclined. What? So, I'm a few years behind. I just barely figured out how to text. Go me!) I am going to practice posting a few things, so I am going to go back a few weeks so I have something to talk about. So bear with me, some of this is kind of old. WISH ME LUCK! :o)
